DESCRIPTION:
The program prepares the student for employment
in retail and institutional pharmacy practice.
Training includes, but is not limited to, introduction
to medical terminology, pharmacology, medical
drugs, pharmacy law, pharmaceutical compounding,
sterile technique, IV and chemotherapy preparation,
medication delivery systems, unit dose packaging,
patient record systems, processing prescriptions,
pharmacy math, medication purchasing, receiving
and inventory systems, pharmaceutical automation,
computer applications in pharmacy practice,
employability and leadership skills, human relations
as they relate to pharmacy and first aid, CPR
and AIDS.
