What are hybrid online classes?

A hybrid program is one that makes available 49% or less of the required instructional hours via distance learning. This hybrid instruction is a carefully planned blend of both traditional classroom instruction and online learning activities. In other words, hybrid classes combine the best of both sides of instruction.

Benefits of hybrid instruction:

Some of the most important educational benefits are how hybrid courses help improve writing and computer skills. In addition, hybrid classes also encourage self-directed learning, time management, problem solving, and critical thinking skills in those who participate in the programs. Students are required to do more work on their own, and this kind of "active learning" results in better test performance and what is known as subject mastery.

How hybrid online classes work at Westside Tech?

The online hybrid portion of the program is optional. The student has the option of coming to class and having the content taught in the traditional method or going online at their convenience to access the program content.

Which programs are offered online?

Westside currently offers two programs using this delivery mode, Massage Therapy and Cosmetology.

How students can register?

Students register the traditional way for the program. There is no additional registration needed for the hybrid programs
