Culinary
DESCRIPTION:
This program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the Commercial
Foods and Culinary Arts fields. Training includes preparation
and serving, storage, identification, selection and presentation
of a wide variety of foods, communication and leadership skills,
mathematical skills, human relations and employability skills,
and safe and efficient work practices.
LENGTH:
1500 hours
PROGRAM COST: In addition to required tuition fees, textbooks
and lab fees for this program are approximately:
UNIQUE
REQUIREMENTS: The State of Florida requires students to meet
the minimum basic skills levels prior to program completion. Two
uniforms, a nametag, measuring utensils and a set of knives are
required for training.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER: Students may enter into the three-year
Culinary Arts Apprenticeship program. Valencia
Community College may offer up to 6 credit hours to those who
complete the SERVSafe Training
and 15 credit hours to program completers.
